The American Red Cross needs blood and you can help.
The weekend snow storm severely cut into the Red Cross Blood Bank supply. Jenna Elliot with the Red Cross says blood donation centers had to close and blood drives cancelled due to the weather. Some drives were cancelled as late as Monday with many streets and roads still being cleared.
Now the Red Cross is urging people who had donation appointments to reschedule and they're asking others to give.
Elliot says you can set up a donation appointment or find a blood drive in your area by calling 1-800-GIVELIFE or logging on to http://www.givebloodgivelife.org/ .
O-negative blood is always needed because it's universal and can be used in nearly all situations but the Red Cross can use all blood types.
