After being suspended earlier this year for failing to meet several academic standards set by coach Bret Bielema , Wisconsin Badger defensive end Jamal Cooper has been reinstated and practiced yesterday for the first time this spring.
Cooper will be a senior this fall. Coach Bret Bielema said he reinstated Cooper after sseing sufficient academic progress in the second semester.
"I just wanted to make sure he understood what we needed to get done," Bielema said yesterday. "And he has done a tremendous job in the areas that I thought he needed to improve upon.
"We always knew he could play football. That's not an issue. That's not a question. What he has been able to do in the classroom, all the obligations he had there, he has been able to meet."
