The NCAA Division 1 Women's Volleyball Committee has awarded the University of Wisconsin one of four regionals during the upcoming 2007 women's Volleyball Tournament. The regionals are slated for Dec. 7 and 8 at the UW Fieldhouse.
Wisconsin, which has been to three consecutive NCAA regionals and made 10 NCAA regional appearances overall, looks to better its regional semifinal result from last season this coming fall. The Badgers fell in three games to the host team, Texas and finished last season 26-7.
Other 2007 regional sites selected by the NCAA include Florida, Penn State and Stanford.
The Badgers have a successful history with playing host to NCAA volleyball action. Wisconsin was the host school for the 1998 and 1993 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championships at the Kohl Center and UW Field House, respectively, with both events setting NCAA records for attendance.
