The city council in Green Bay has given final approval to a proposal which lets the city strip the business license from an owner who knowingly hires illegal immigrants. Council President Chad Frodette says the ordinance will be difficult to enforce at first, but he hopes Green Bay police officers can eventually be trained to determine residency status and actively enforce immigration violations. For now, Frodette hopes neighboring municipalities will approve similar measures. Green Bay's ordinance takes effect on Friday.
