The state Department of Transportation is scrambling to come up with more salt supplies, as yet another winter storm bares down on Wisconsin.
Director of Highway Operations Dave Vieth says that, in the past month, the state has been able to get more than 100,000 additional tons of road salt. But the way this winter's going, with another storm due on Sunday, supplies are getting tight.
Vieth says they've been able to find some additional supplies, but getting them where they need to be could be difficult. Right now they're hoping to truck them in from Minnesota before the next big wave of snow hits the state.
