The Public Service Commission is looking at some new ways to reduce global warming.
The PSC has agreed to explore five recommendations from the Governor's Task Force on Global Warming, which are designed to help reduce Wisconsin's impact on the environment. The areas the PSC will examine include assessing winder power generation on the Great Lakes, electric rate designs, and increasing energy conservation goals. Executive Assistant Eric Callisto says the PSC wants to determine if those plans are feasible.
The recommendations being taken up were an early result of the work being done by the Governor's Task Force. The panel released an interim report in February, which included issues members unanimously felt needed to be further explored. The group is expected to release its final report next month.
