It's another sign of the economic hard times. Fewer people in Wisconsin are buying cars.
There was a huge drop in auto sales nationwide last month, and also in Wisconsin. Scott Quimby of Reg-Trak INC., which follows registration figures, says sales of new vehicles statewide were down nearly 26-percent in October compared to a year ago.
Quimby says the numbers reflect the apprehension many people are feeling because of the economic downturn. He says it's also forcing many small dealerships out of business.
Quimby says a lot of people were in the habit of getting a new vehicle every three years. That's not happening now.
