With more snow on the ground, officials are offering a warning about ice-melt and pets.
Lori Getter with the state Department of Emergency Management says it can be deadly to dogs and cats if they lick their feet after walking through many of those products. She says that's due to the chemicals used to help reduce the amount of ice on driveways and sidewalks.
Getter says you should keep them away from those areas. If they do venture into the salt and chemicals, she says to wipe their paws off before they can lick them.
