The Governor is asking for an extenstion on delivering his state budget proposal.
Governor Jim Doyle plans to wait a week, before handing over his state budget to lawmakers. The Governor was set to unveil his budget plan next Tuesday, but his office says it will now be delayed until February 17th.
Officials in the governor's office say the decision is because of continued work on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in Congress. Doyle believes an extra week could provide a clearer picture of what kind of federal aid Wisconisn will receive.
If Congress has still not acted on the plan by February 17th, Doyle will go ahead and deliver his budget message.
