The Governor says Wisconsin will benefit greatly from President Obama's move to expand federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Doyle says the order will expand research in Wisconsin as well as holds out hope for those afflicted with Parkinson's, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.
Doyle says Wisconsin already has the best stem cell research in the world including two major breakthroughs have happened here.
While speaking to reporters Monday night at a legislative dinner sponsored by the Kenosha Education Association and the Racine Education Association, Doyle also spoke of Wisconsin being one of the "great success stories" of the country regarding exports. He says the recent economic downturn greatly affected the market.
Wisconsin's exports increased 12% last year to $20.6 billion.
