Students rallied outside Appleton Xavier high school Monday morning, in hopes of saving a teacher's job.
Physical Education teacher Matt Prill will not have his contract renewed for next school year, reportedly because he spent the night at his girlfriend's house in Green Bay. The ACES/Xavier system requires teachers to follow Catholic teachings, including not "co-habitating" before marriage. Prill reportedly didn't want to drive because he had a few drinks.
About 75 students held a "Grill for Prill" tailgate before school started this morning and some held signs calling on administrators to reverse their decision. Prill is also the baseball coach and associate athletic director at the school.
Administrators aren't commenting on the rally, saying that the issue is a personnel matter.
