Jury deadlocked in prayer death trial

A jury of six men and six women deciding the fate of Weston prayer death parent Dale Neumann deadlocked after nine hours of deliberations Friday.

Judge Vincent Howard told the jury to sleep on it and resume deliberations Saturday morning in an effort to reach a verdict.

The jury of six men and six women asked to see Dale Neumann’s home and cell phone records and a transcript of his interview with police.  Prosecutors allege Neumann recklessly caused his daughter’s death last Easter Sunday by choosing prayer over medicine.

The girl's mother, Leilani Neumann , was found guilty in May of reckless homicide in the death of her daughter.  She'll be sentenced in October.

Plane clips house, crashes on way to EAA

Three people luckily escaped major injuries after an airplane crash in Jackson County today.

An older single engine airplane crashed just 300 yards short of the Black River Falls Airport Friday morning. Jackson County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mark Moen.

'An airplane had crashed in this residence front yard, which is right across the street. We were able to talk to the pilot. His name is Daniel Wilson, out of Minneapolis, MN. Him and two people were in route to ( EAA ) Oshkosh. And they got into this area and noticed they were having some problems with the airplane. Notice some oil problems and some temperature problems. So, he turned the plane around and tried to land it at the Black River Airport."

Moen says the plane went through the upper portion of the residence.

"Taking out the roof and part of the structure of the garage area of the house, it had an attached garage."

Only minor injuries were reported from the passengers in the plane. Three people in residence were not hurt. This is the second plane crash in Western Wisconsin in three days.

More Cash for Clunkers

The U.S. House has voted to expand the Cash for Clunkers program.

The program allows drivers to receive a rebate of up to $4,500 when trading in a old car for a more fuel-efficient vehicle. However, it was in danger of using up its $1 billion budget just three days after it started.

Congressman Dave Obey (D-WI) called on federal lawmakers today to add up to $2 billion in additional funding. Obey says the massive response to the program shows it will work to generate sales and stimulate the economy, and lawmakers need to make sure there's enough money to fund the incentive.

The measure now heads to the US Senate.
