Brewers gain split with 7-3 win over Nationals

For the first two games of the series, the Washington Nationals looked like world beaters and the Milwaukee Brewers could do no right.

The Brewers have bounced back to win the last two games, including today's 7-3 win at Miller Park to salvage a split in the 4-game series.  The Brewers got home runs from Craig Counsell and Prince Fielder.  Counsell also extended his hitting streak to 12 games as the Brewers climb back to .500 at 51-51.

Yovani Gallardo earned the win (10-7), working 7 innings, allowing 3-runs on 5 hits.  Gallardo struck out 11, one shy of his career high.

Ryan Zimmerman clubbed a 3-run homer off of Gallardo for Washington's only run production.

The Brewers will travel to San Diego to face the Padres tomorrow (Friday) night.
