The jury of six men and six women deliberated for 15 hours over two days, before convicting Dale Neumann of one count of second degree reckless homicide.
The verdict comes as victims for prosecutors, who argued that Neumann failed in his duty as a parent to seek medical help for 11-year-old Madeline Kara, even though she was too weak to eat, drink, walk, or talk. The girl died as a result of her illness from undiagnosed and untreated diabetes.
Neumann testified in his own defense that going to a doctor would have been a sin and shown disobedience to God, whom he had absolute faith would heal the girl.
Neumann faces up to 25 years in prison when he's sentenced in October. His wife, Leilani Neumann, was convicted on similar charges in May.
