The Milwaukee Brewers haven’t confirmed a deal yet, but a couple of media organizations are reporting that the teams closer, Trevor Hoffman, has reached agreement on a contract that will pay him $8-million next season with a mutual option for 2011. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says the deal has escalators in it.
Hoffman finished 46 games this season, appearing in 55 and converting 37 of 41 save chances with a 3-2 record and a 1.83 ERA.
The Brewers told the Journal Sentinel that the team will likely announce the deal at a season ending press conference on Wednesday.
