President Obama has a plan to tax big banks in an effort to recoup the hundreds of billions that financial groups received during the tax payer funded bailout. Prior to Thursday’s unveiling of the proposal, US Senator Russ Feingold said he wants to make sure smaller, community banks will not be affected.
Green Bay Phoenix extend home court win streak
The Green Bay Phoenix ran their home court win streak to 15-games, beating Wright State 68-66 in Horizon League at the Resch Center.
Senior forward Randy Berry hit two free throws with 0.9 seconds left. Berry finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds, going 4 for 4 from the field and 9 for 9 at the free throw line. Rahmon Fletcher added 18 points for the Phoenix (12-6). The Phoenix improved to 5-2 in league play. They’re in second place, behind first place Butler (6-0).
In Milwaukee, Chase Simon had 33 points and 12 rebounds to lead Detroit to a 81-65 victory over the UWM Panthers. Ricky Franklin led the Panthers with 22 points.
