Congressman Steve Kagen (D-Appleton) says the effort to help four families from his district speed up the adoption of Haitian children is moving along successfully. Kagen’s constituents were in the process of adopting for several years and it was to be finalized in the next 90 days. That’s until the massive earthquake disrupted the immigration paperwork.
Kagen called on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano for assistance. He says the children have been found healthy. His office is working hand in hand with the State Department and Homeland Security to “finish the job” and bring the children to Wisconsin.
The Appleton Democrat gives complements to the agencies for their rapid response.
