Bucks looking to stay hot with all-star break approaching

SCOTT SKILESThe Milwaukee Bucks have won 5 of their last 6 games to climb back into the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoff picture.  The Bucks are 3-games under .500 (23-26) and can reach the all-star break at 1-under with a pair of wins.  They’re percentage points behind Miami for the 8th and final playoff spot in the East and just a game behind Chicago and Charlotte, who hold down the 6th and 7th spots.

The Bucks host the Detroit Pistons (17-32) tonight.  Detroit has dropped 6 of their last 8 games overall, but have won 10 of their last 14 against the Bucks.  The Bucks then travel to New Jersey to take on the Nets (4-46) on Wednesday, two winnable basketball games, according to Bucks coach Scott Skiles.

Michigan State has a 1-game lead on Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio State.  Purdue is just a half-game further behind.  The 11th ranked Badgers host Illinois at the Kohl Center and Purdue goes to East Lansing to face a Michigan State team that has lost two in-a-row.  In all, five teams are within a game and a half of each other at the top of the league.

If Purdue can knock off the Spartans and the Badgers can win on the home court against Illinois tonight, the Badgers would then share the Big Ten lead. [Read more...]
