Stricker wins in Los Angeles

Madison’s Steve Stricker entered the final round of the PGA’s Northern Trust Open with a 5-shot lead.  Stricker increased is advantage to 6-shots before Luke Donald decided to make a run.  Donald closed to within 2-shots before Stricker regathered himself and held on for the win.

The tournament ended Sunday with Stricker in the winners circle and in tears after his 4th win in his last 15 appearances.

Stricker moved into the second spot in the world golf rankings and earned $1.15-million for first place.  Stricker said it means a lot to be a part of history.

Mark Wilson of Menomonee Falls finished at 1-over, 17-shots off the lead.
