For four years, Governor Jim Doyle has been encouraging students to sign the Wisconsin Covenant. The agreement guarantees them entrance into almost any college or university in the state if they maintain a B average, stay out of trouble, and graduate high school. Badgers move up in AP Top 25
The Wisconsin men’s basketball team moved up two spots in the Associated Press Top 25 College Basketball Poll out today. The Badgers, ranked 17th last week, are number 15 this week in the media poll.
Wisconsin is 21-7 on the season and will host Iowa Wednesday night, then close out the regular season at Illinois on Sunday.
Marquette is receiving votes and falls in at #29 this week.
Establishing standards for Sign Language interpreters

Report shows big spending by payday lenders
A new report indicates that the payday loan industry has been spending some big money with lawmakers.
The review by the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign shows the industry contributed nearly $30,000 to legislative campaign committees during the last half of 2009. Those came at the same time that the Legislature was considering new restrictions on lenders. [Read more...]
Marquette pulls out third straight overtime win
The Marquette Golden Eagles won their 3rd straight overtime game, knocking off Seton Hall 84-83 in Newark, New Jersey.
All five Marquette starters scored in double figures, led by Lazar Hayward’s 23 points. It’s the 13th time this season that the Golden Eagles have been involved in a game that was decided by five points or less.
The Golden Eagles reached 10 Big East Conference wins for the 5th year in a row and may have punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Marquette is tied with Louisville for 5th place in the Big East and will square off against each other on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center.
