High rate of ATV injuries to kids

ATVs are a lot of fun, but they can also cause severe injury and death.

New reports show a high rate of severe injuries among kids under 16 who drive or ride all-terrain vehicles, including amputations, spinal injuries and even death.

Lawmakers tackle RTA issue

The push for legislation that would allow for the creation of Regional Transit Authorities across the state is bringing out a variety of opinions at the Capitol.

A legislative committee on Thursday heard several hours of testimony on four bills dealing with forming RTAs. One creates a statewide process, while others deal with southeastern Wisconsin, the Fox Valley, and La Crosse. [Read more...]

Serial arsonist suspected in Stevens Point

As many as 20 fires in Stevens Point over the last two years may be the work of a serial arsonist.

Police on Thursday put out a plea for help in tracking down the person or persons responsible for 20 suspected arson fires dating back to May 2008. Stevens Point Police and Fire Commission administrator Jeff Morris says there are no prime suspects or persons of interest at this time. [Read more...]
