The Fond du Lac County Board Tuesday night voted unanimously to repeal a half percent sales tax at the end of 2021. That’s when the tax essentially created to fund incentives for Mercury Marine is expected to have accomplished its purpose.

State Representative Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) appeared before the Special Committee on Ethics Tuesday. The panel is considering a motion from Nass to expel Representative Jeff Wood (I-Chippewa Falls) from office, after he was arrested three times in one year on suspicion of driving under the influence. Higher deer population goals still not enough
A proposal to increase the size of Wisconsin’s deer herd doesn’t go far enough for one state lawmaker.
The Natural Resources Board approved a plan Tuesday that would increase population goals for white-tailed deer by 21-percent. State Representative Scott Gunderson (R-Waterford) says that will be of little comfort to hunters who go home empty handed. He says adding 60,000 deer really won’t make that huge of a difference.
