Cornell Ends Wisconsin’s Season

Cinderella came to the dance with a buzz-saw Sunday as 12th seeded Cornell topped 4th seeded Wisconsin 87-69 in Jacksonville.  For the second straight year Wisconsin is ousted in the round of 32.

Cornell’s offense could not be stopped despite the Badgers best efforts.  The Big Red shot over 61% from the floor and 55% from downtown.  Badger Senior Guard Trevon Hughes on trying to stop Cornell:

Walker sees too many questions on high speed rail

A Republican candidate for governor says there are a lot of unanswered questions about high speed rail. Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker asks who will ride the high speed line linking Milwaukee and Madison. “Right now, without one penny of taxpayer dollars, the Badger Bus already goes between Milwaukee and Madison,” Walker notes. Faith healing bill draws concerns

A proposal in the state Legislature to remove an exemption from child abuse laws that protects faith-based healing has Christian Scientists raising objections.

Joe Farkas with the Christian Science Churches of Wisconsin worries the proposal is wide open to interpretation, in that permits a subjective determination of whether cultural or religious beliefs pose a specific danger to children. He says the bills lack of definitions could result in children being removed from homes where they’re not actually at risk, just because someone is biased against their beliefs. [Read more...]
