Bucks look for 9th straight at home

The Milwaukee Bucks (39-30) entertain the Philadelphia 76ers(24-47) tonight at the Bradley Center.  Milwaukee is looking for their 9th straight victory on their home floor.

The Bucks and 76ers are heading in completely opposite directions at the moment.  As Milwaukee has won 15 of their last 17 games, Philly comes in losing 13 of their last 15 games.  Bucks forward Kurt Thomas says the Bucks are playing with a lot of confidence:

NFL changes overtime rule in the playoffs

With a vote of 28-4, the NFL Owners have decided to change the overtime rule in the playoffs.

 The team that wins the coin flip now must score a touchdown to win the game immediately. By kicking a field goal, the coin flip winner would have to give the ball back to the opposing team who could win the game with a touchdown or kick a field goal to tie the game. Once each team has possession the overtime would go back to the original sudden death format.

UW Green Bay falls in Round of 32

The UW Green Bay Women’s Basketball Team fell to 4th seeded Iowa State Tuesday night in the second round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament 60-56. The 12th seeded Phoenix were looking for the schools first ever trip to the Sweet 16.
 
 Kayla Tetschlag was the games top scorer with a career best 29-point performance. That total also tied the UW Green Bay tournament mark for most points in a game. Tetschlag was also given the distinction of the “player of the game” on the ESPN2 telecast. [Read more...]

Lawmaker plans to push for vote on expulsion

Even though a special ethics committee considering the expulsion of state Representative Jeff Wood (I-Chippewa Falls) split their vote Tuesday on how to proceed with the measure, the sponsor of the resolution is confident the full Assembly will still act the proposal. [Read more...]

Bill provides more time to develop comprehensive plans

Legislation proposed at the Capitol provides more time for communities to develop comprehensive plans. State Senator Pat Kreitlow said some communities have still not developed comprehensive plans as required under the state’s “smart growth” law – and sometimes that’s a problem. “As has happened in my district, in a township that didn’t have a plan, a strip club goes up. And now all of a sudden they’re saying ‘we’ve got to get rid of this.’ Well you could have if you’d had a plan in place, but it’s too late now.” [Read more...]
