Bucks close out homestand against Clippers tonight

The Milwaukee Bucks  wrap up their 5-game home stand with a game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Bradley Center. 

The Bucks get a break.  The Clippers will be without their star point guard Baron Davis, who didn’t make the road trip because of back spasms.  Davis is averaging 15.2 points and 7.9 assists per game. 

The Bucks still hold down the 5th spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoff chase, 1 game in front of 6th place Miami.

Brewers fall to Giants in Cactus League

Dave BushDave Bush had his worst outing of the spring, giving up 8 hits, including a pair of home runs, and 7 runs in 6 innings of work.  The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the San Francisco Giants 8-6 in Cactus League play.

Rickie Weeks had a pair of hits, including his 2nd home run of the spring for the Brewers.

Chris Narveson starts for the Brewers against the Angels in Tempe today.

Gallardo named Brewers opening day starter

Yovani GallardoRight handed pitcher Yovani Gallardo was officially named the Milwaukee Brewers opening day starter yesterday. 

Gallardo was 13-12 with a 3.73 ERA last season.  He’ll make his first opening day start when the Brewers face the Colorado Rockies at Miller Park on Monday.

The next three spots in the rotation go to left handed pitchers Randy Wolf and Doug Davis, along with right hander Dave Bush.

Manager Ken Macha held off on naming a fifth starter because the Brewers won’t need one for a couple of weeks.

Green Bay’s Kowalczyk to interview in Toledo today

Tod KowalczykUW-Green Bay Phoenix men’s basketball coach Tod Kowalczyk is set to interview for the coaching vacancy at Toledo today.  Kowalczyk, who just finished his 8th season in Green Bay, is said to be the leading candidate for the opening.

Toledo is seeking a replacement for Gene Cross, who resigned after going 11-53 in two seasons.

Kowalczyk reportedly met with his players before leaving for Toledo and told them if things went well and he were offered the job, he planned to take it. [Read more...]
