Bucks end 2-game losing streak

The Milwaukee Bucks snapped their 2-game losing streak on Sunday, knocking off the Memphis Grizzlies 108-103 in overtime at the Bradley Center.

Rookie point guard Brandon Jennings poured in 29 points, dished out 8 assists, pulled down 7 rebounds and added 4 steals.

Fellow point guard Luke Ridnour added 14 points, 7 assists and 2 rebounds, playing together with Jennings for much of the second half and the overtime. [Read more...]

Brewers fall to Diamondbacks in exhibition

Doug DavisThe Milwaukee Brewers did little right on Sunday, falling to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-1 in Cactus League play.

Brewers starting pitcher Doug Davis (pictured) surrendered 9 hits, 4 walks and 6 runs in his 5 innings of work.

Reliever Carlos Villanueva gave up a 2-run homer in the 7th and Mitch Stetter surrendered an RBI double in the 8th.

The Brewers only run came on Joe Inglett’s 7th inning sacrifice fly. 

The Brewers are 13-12-1 with a week left before the start of the regular season.

Group wants CFL ban for landfills

Use of the energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs has been on the rise in recent years, as more people look to reduce power use.

However, Amber Meyer Smith with Clean Wisconsin says CFLs can pose a risk to the environment when thrown away, because they contain mercury. She says landfills are not designed to capture the contaminant, which can have harmful effects on wildlife and water supplies. [Read more...]

Delfino is day to day for Bucks

X-rays on the head and neck of Bucks forward Carlos Delfino turned up negative and he’s considered day-to-day.  Delfino was taken off the court from Friday night’s game on a stretcher.

Delfino was hurt late in the first half of Milwaukee’s 87-74 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday night.  He was motionless for nearly 10 minutes while paramedics turned him over and strapped him to a back board.

Delfino has been a big part of the Bucks resurgence during the second half of the season.

Gamblers wrap up Anderson Cup title

Green Bay’s 4-3 shootout victory over the Fargo Force on Saturday night earned the Gamblers their second straight Anderson Cup for the regular-season title in the United States Hockey League.

The Gamblers (43-10-5) finished the night with a 5-point lead on the Omaha Lancers with two games left to play in the regular season.
