The race for the Republican U.S. Senate primary could get even more crowded. Wispolitics.com is reporting that outgoing state Commerce Secretary Dick Leinenkugel is planning to enter the race. Bucks clinch playoff spot for first time since 05-06
It’s been a long time since the Bucks had a playoff team and it seems even longer. Tuesday night’s 79-74 win over the Chicago Bulls put the Bucks into the playoffs for the first time since the 2005-2006 season.
They did it without injured center Andrew Bogut, who is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his hand on Tuesday. Veteran Kurt Thomas took Bogut’s place and pulled down 14 rebounds in the 5-point win. [Read more...]
Admirals clinch spot in AHL playoffs
The Milwaukee Admirals beat Peoria 4-1 on Tuesday night at the Bradley Center, clinching a spot in the American Hockey League (AHL) playoffs.
The Admirals came from 10 points back in the team standings a month ago to secure the 4th spot in the West with the win.
It’s the 8th straight trip to the post season for the Admirals.
Wisconsin looking to add to 2010 class
Wisconsin men’s basketball coach Bo Ryan will be doing some late shopping for a guard for his 2010 freshman class.
Sophomore center Ian Markolf (pictured), who played just six games in his two seasons with the Badgers, has decided to quit the team and work towards his degree.
Markolf’s departure opens up a scholarship for next season. It appears as if the Badgers will try to add a guard, a position where the Badgers are thin going into next season.
Fugitives taken down
A man and his wife, both wanted in connection with a hit and run accident involving an Illinois State Trooper, are jailed in Kenosha County.
