As the temps rise, so do the prices at the pump

Your wallet might be feeling a little lighter these days, as gasoline prices inch their way toward $3.00 a gallon.

“Gas prices across Wisconsin right now are averaging $2.90 today. We don’t see that number as coming down any time soon. Though we think that the trend is that the prices are going to rise as we head into the spring and head into the summer.”

Brewers win in walkoff fashion

Casey McGehee clubbed a walk-off game winning homer in the 9th to lift the Milwaukee Brewers to an 8-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Miller Park.

The Brewers looked like they had a win in the bag.  Baseball’s all-time saves leader, Trevor Hoffman was on in the 9th to hold a 7-4 lead, but he served up a 2-run homer to Albert Pujols and a game tying solo shot to Matt Holliday, his second blown save in the last three games.  Is Hoffman concerned?

Celebrating Tax Freedom Day

It’s Tax Freedom Day in Wisconsin, which is marked each year as the day where taxpayers have earned enough to cover their tax burden.

Waupaca County now enforcing cell phone ban

Motorists in Waupaca County beware…a ban on using cell phones while driving is now being enforced.

Two men, one from Plover another from Kaukauna, each received citations last week for using a cell phone while driving. The officer issuing the citations says both vehicles were stopped for speeding and cell phone violations. [Read more...]

Hoping for a boost in milk prices

Wisconsin farmers need a “dairy boost” to help improve their economic situation.

UW Ag agent David Fischer says an increase in milk prices would be a big help for farmers. They’re currently selling at around $13 to $13.50 a hundred-weight right now and he says that needs to increase $2 or more at this point for dairy farmers to start getting in the black. [Read more...]
