The Milwaukee Brewers dropped their 2nd straight to the Pittsburgh Pirates, with Trevor Hoffman blowing his fourth save of the season.
Hoffman was on to start the 9th, trying to protect a 4-3 lead. He served up a leadoff home run to pinch hitter Ryan Doumit and the Brewers eventually fell 6-5 in 14-innings. Hoffman also served up a grand slam to Doumit in a Pirates victory the day before. Hoffman has now allowed 6-home runs in his four blown saves this season.
Brewers manager Ken Macha said the answer isn’t sitting Hoffman down.

Macha did admit that he may sit Hoffman tonight in the first of a 4-game series at San Diego. Hoffman has pitched the last two days and Macha said he’ll likely skip him for 1-day if the Brewers are in a save situation.
Brewers lefty Manny Parra eventually took the loss, although he pitched well. Parra worked 3 innings, allowing 1-run on 4-hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
