Group claims victory in UW abortion fight

Pro-life advocates are claiming victory in their fight against efforts to provide certain abortion services at a UW facility in Madison.

Doyle signs Indian mascot bill

Governor Jim Doyle signs legislation into law that’s gotten a lot of attention as of late — whether Wisconsin public schools should continue using Native American mascots, team names and logos.

Obey to retire

An earthquake rumbled across Wisconsin’s political landscape on Wednesday, as the longest serving member of the state’s congressional delegation announced he’ll not seek reelection in November. “There’s a time to stay, and a time to go. Badger men’s hockey team adds one

Wisconsin men’s hockey coach Mike Eaves has announced the signing of Jason Clark (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) to a national letter of intent.  Clark will join the Badgers in the fall of 2010.

Clark, a 6’2, 183lb forward, comes to the Badgers from Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minnesota.  He skated in 54 games in 2009-10, recording 23 goals and 46 points, as well as a team-high 80 penalty minutes.

Wisconsin now has commitments from a total of eight skaters for the current recruiting class.  Three of the eight are from Wisconsin.  Jefferson Dahl (Eau Claire), Chase Drake (Mosinee) and Sean Little of Fond du Lac will all arrive on campus in the fall.
