Gamblers play for Clark Cup tonight

Jon CooperAfter dropping the first two games in the best-of-5 Clark Cup Championship series on home ice, the Green Bay Gamblers traveled to Fargo, ND last weekend and returned the favor, winning both road games. 

Game 3 came down to the final :49 seconds in regulation when USHL Rookie of the Year, Anders Lee, jammed in the game-tying goal.  The Gamblers eventually won the game in triple overtime.  Green Bay used that momentum to win game 4 and now the two teams meet back in Green Bay tonight to play the 5th and deciding game for the coveted Clark Cup. PGA Championship exhibit opens today

PGA Championship ExhibitThe PGA Championship History Exhibit has returned to Wisconsin and opens today at The Shops at Woodlake Kohler, located in the Village of Kohler, Wisconsin.

Golf enthusiasts and history lovers will be able to take a free tour of some of the rarest artifacts and memorabilia which uncover the tradition of the PGA Championship and its past 91 Champions.

The 92nd PGA Championship will be conducted Aug. 9-15 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI.  Whistling Straits has already hosted the 2004 Championship when Vijay Singh defeated Chris DiMarco and Justin Leonard in a three-hole playoff. [Read more...]

Braun could sit again today

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun is expected to miss his second consecutive game today with a bruised and swollen left elbow. 

Braun was hit just above the elbow Monday night in the Brewers series opening loss to the Braves.  Braun missed his first game of the season last night after starting each of the Brewers first 32 contests.

Badgers to face Arizona State on ABC

The Wisconsin Badgers non-conference football game Sept. 18th against visiting Arizona State has been set for a 2:30pm kickoff.  The game will be televised regionally by ABC.

Kickoff is now set for 4 of the Badgers 12 games in 2010.  UW opens the season on Sept. 4 at UNLV at 10 pm.  They’ll host Minnesota on Oct. 9 at 11am and host Ohio State on Oct. 16 at 6pm.

Brewers are miserable at Miller Park

Ken MachaFollowing a 6-4 road trip out west, the Milwaukee Brewers thought they were over the hump.  The Crew thought they had momentum heading into a 6-game home stand against the Braves and Phillies.  But after the first two games, the only thing the Brewers are showing is their inability to win at home.

Atlanta followed Monday’s win with a 11-3 victory over the Brewers on Tuesday night.   The Braves came to Milwaukee with the worst road record in the National League and the 14th-ranked offense with regards to runs scored, yet they’ve put a total of 19-runs on the board in the first two games of the series.  Brewers manager Ken Macha said the Braves offense isn’t inept, regardless of where they were, coming to Milwaukee.
