Walker gets flak for Harley tour

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is not happy with Scott Walker’s Harley tour.

It’s nothing more than a taxpayer-funded joyride around the state promoting his run for governor. That’s what Democratic Party Chair Mike Tate says about Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s annual Milwaukee tourism campaign on his motorcycle. Scott Walker says there’s no politics on his tour of Wisconsin. The Milwaukee County Executive and Republican candidate for governor says his seventh annual six day Harley tour of the state is all about promoting Milwaukee County tourism – and part of his job. “I don’t stop doing my job,” Walker said during a campaign appearance on Thursday with the Waunakee Rotary Club. “I was a candidate before the ride last year and I did effectively the same things I’ve done for the seven years before this year’s ride.” [Read more...]

Neumann won’t seek GOP convention endorsement

One of the Republican candidates for governor doesn’t want his party’s endorsement.

Women’s summit looks to prompt policy (AUDIO)

Future battles and past victories were highlighted at the first ever Wisconsin Women’s Health Policy Summit. Advocates, medical practitioners and political figures gathered in Madison for the event which tackled issues such as substance abuse, cancer, economic health and infant mortality.

Firefighters suspended after drinking incident

Two Fond du Lac firefighter/paramedics involved in a night of drinking that led to a hit and run car crash last month have agreed to unpaid suspensions. The two met with Fire Chief Peter O’Leary and Human Resources Director Rodney Pasch Wednesday.
