Zaun’s injury could be career threatening

Milwaukee Brewer catcher Gregg Zaun’s career could be in jeopardy.  An MRI on his right shoulder shows an anterior tear of the labrum.  Zaun faces surgery if he wants to play beyond this season and will undergo a therapy program to see if he can play again this season.

If Zaun has surgery, the recovery time is 4 to 6 months.

Without Zaun, the Brewers will go with George Kottaras and rookie Jonathan Lucroy will serve as his backup.  The Brewers could also look to make a deal to add some help.

But anybody who has fished these lakes midsummer the past couple of years has fished them at even lower levels than they’re at currently.” [Read more...]
