Social networking privacy, posting issues

Most people have a love-hate relationship with Facebook.

The latest issue of Time magazine has a cover story about Facebook and how the social networking site is redefining privacy. Madison-area Privacy Expert Joe Campana says for the user, even an expert such as himself, simply trying to keep up with the ever-changing privacy policy is a very laborious process. “My rule of thumb is, again, with Facebook, don’t put anything on Facebook that you don’t want others to see.” [Read more...]

Brewers blow 4-run lead, fall to Marlins

Ken Macha called the Milwaukee Brewers 6th inning meltdown on Monday an avalanche.  Chris Narveson and the Brewers jumped out to a 4-0 lead and looked to be in good shape until the 6th.  That’s when the Marlins scored 7-runs and went on to beat the Brewers 13-5 in Miami.  13 runs in 3-innings for the Marlins in the win. NCAA Div. 3 CWS concludes today

The NCAA Division 3 baseball champion will be crowned at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton today.

Linfield College (37-12) faces State University of New York-Cortland (39-9-1) in the first game at 11am.  The winner of that game then faces Illinois Wesleyan  University (30-20) in the 2:30 pm Championship.

The only state team in the tournament, UW-Stevens Point, was eliminated on Sunday by Heidelberg College 8-3.

June Dairy month highlights industry concerns

As June Dairy Month gets underway, farmers in the state are reflecting on some tough times over the past couple of years. They’re also looking for a better future.

Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Bill Bruins says, even though milk prices have been depressed, surprisingly few dairy farmers have gone out of business. He says a likely reason for that is because of the strong resources in the state tied to milk production and the lifelong experience many producers have to rely on. [Read more...]
