Plans to expand from four to six lanes the section of I-39/90 spanning from the Illinois border at Beloit through Janesville to Madison take one step forward.

Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi says the project’s environmental impact study has been submitted for federal consideration. “Planned improvements for the corridor would include reconstructing the existing four-lane divided interstate highway and adding an additional lane in each direction to create a six-lane highway, rebuilding 11 interchanges and modernizing the ramps.” [Read more...]

Historical society offers free passes in June

The Wisconsin Historical Society wants you to take advantage of twice as many authentic historic places. In June, general admission tickets purchased on a weekday to one of nine historic sites and museums will include a free pass for any other site, good for the rest of the year. “So buy one, get in later on for free.”

Packers re-issue tenders

The Green Bay Packers re-issued their restricted free-agent tenders to defensive end Johnny Jolly, defensive back Tramon Williams and safety Atari Bigby.  If the players don’t sign their tenders by June 15th, the Packers can then reduce the tender to 110% of the players 2009 salary and still retain exclusive negotiating rights.

According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today, Johnny Jolly’s felony drug trial in Houston has been postponed for a 3rd time.  That report also said that Jolly failed a polygraph test, which is the reason he underwent harsher bond restrictions last month.

Could this trail be delayed any longer?  Let’s get on with it.  We all would like to know what Jolly could be looking at for punishment if any, as well as to what extend, the NFL might come down on Jolly in terms of a possible suspension.
