Missing mom needed a “time out”

Keri Geschke was found safe and sound Saturday night, after spending nearly five days in Waushara County. Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney says Geschke’s Jeep had been stuck in the mud in an isolated wooded area for several days. [Read more...]

Bucks hold more pre-draft workouts

The Milwaukee Bucks have six more players at their training center today, working out in preparation for the June 24th NBA Draft.

The Bucks hold the 15th pick in the first round and the 37th and 47th overall selections in round 2.

The Bucks say they’ll have players for workouts every day this week.

A call to reform redistricting

The contentious task of redistricting is looming for Wisconsin lawmakers, and one observer of state politics believes it’s well past time for reform. Once the November elections are decided, it will be up to the Wisconsin legislature to draw up new boundaries for its own districts and for the state’s House seats in Washington, in a process which Jay Heck with Common Cause in Wisconsin  calls “utterly ridiculous.” [Read more...]

As underdog Republican candidate for governor Mark Neumann aggressively pursues the party’s endorsed candidate – and the media spotlight – the head of the state Republican party says that keeps the focus on the GOP message.

Mark Jefferson, executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, insists he doesn’t have a problem with Neumann’s continued candidacy. “To have two candidates out there giving the Republican message of fiscal responsibility and living within our means to voters is a good thing,” Jefferson said outside the state Democratic convention in Middelton over the weekend. “As long as we keep the focus on the Republican agenda versus the Democratic record we’ll be fine.” [Read more...]

Stricker & Kelly tee times at U.S. Open

Tee times are out for this week’s opening two rounds of the men’s U.S. Open golf tournament.

Madison’s Steve Stricker has tee times of 3:14pm and 9:44 am.  Stricker will play the first two rounds with Sergio Garcia and Paul Casey.

Fellow Madison golfer Jerry Kelly will tee off at 3:47pm Thursday and 10:17am Friday and will golf with Ben Crane and Peter Hanson.
