The state’s plan to locate a sex offender to a Dane County neighborhood has residents up in arms. Charles Patterson will be living near a church and a day care in the Town of Madison. It was standing room only at the town hall Tuesday night for a community notification meeting. Kim Knapp is with the State Department of Health and Human Services, charged with monitoring Patterson. “I will have more information about that. Former congressional candidate apparent suicide
A Green Bay area physician who recently dropped out of the race for the Eighth Congressional District seat in northeastern Wisconsin is dead, apparently as suicide. Doctor Marc Trager died Tuesday. The Brown County Sheriff’s Department said Trager died at his suburban Howard home from a self-inflicted gunshot, and was alone at the time. His wife dialed 911 when she found the body. Fielder’s bat leads Brewers past Astros (AUDIO)
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder continued to swing a hot bat on Tuesday night, homering twice in a 7-5 win over the Houston Astros at Miller Park. Fielder has 10 home runs in the month of June, giving him 17 for the season.

Yovani Gallardo and rookie catcher Jonathan Lucroy also homered for the Brewers. Gallardo now has three home runs this season. He pitched 6-innings and while he didn’t have his normal superb stuff, Gallardo still earned the win (8-3).

Badgers land in-state star for 2011 football class
Wisconsin football coach Brett Bielema has landed an in-state star from Arrowhead for his 2011 football recruiting class.
Derek Landisch, who gave his oral commitment on Tuesday, is a two-way player at Arrowhead, but the Badgers will be looking for him to take on a defensive role. Landisch has played both inside and outside linebacker with the Warhawks.
Landisch chose Wisconsin after offers from Illinois State, Northern Illinois and South Dakota. He also had a number of Big Ten schools calling, including Ohio State.
Kenseth wins tight race in Madison
Cambridge native Matt Kenseth won the Swiss Colony All-Star 100 at Madison’s International Speedway last night, beating Steve Carlson by about a car length.
Ross Kenseth, Matt’s 17-year old son, finished third after running second for much of the race.
Tony Stewart was a part of the field as well. He finished 15th.
