Fans support interleague play

Interleague play in Major League Baseball continues to be a big hit with the fans.  Interleague attendance at games this season is up 17.8% when compared to other regular season league games this season.

League play drew an average 28,233 so far this season, while the interleague average is at 33,253. 

The American League had the upper hand, 134 to 118 in games this season, the 7th straight year that the American League has come out on top. 

The Milwaukee Brewerswent 9-6 in interleague play this season.

Brewers begin talks with top draft pick!

The Milwaukee Brewers started contract talks with their top draft pick, Dylan Covey in Pasadena over the weekend.

Brewers scouting director Bruce Seid told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that they’re not ready to sign a deal yet, but they are excited about the discussions.

Covey is the All-American High School right hander who was the 14th player taken in the first round.  The 13th and 15th overall picks have already signed their deals.

Brewers blow early lead, fall to Astros

The Milwaukee Brewers  jumped out to a 4-run lead after just two innings, but the Houston Astros came from behind to pull out a 9-5 win at Miller Park on Monday night. 

Pedro Feliz’s RBI double gave the Astros the lead in the 7th to cap off the comeback. [Read more...]

Resch Center awarded 2012 NCAA men’s hockey regional

The Resch Center in Green Bay will now host both the NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey Midwest Regional in 2011 and 2012.  The 2012 award was handed out on Monday by the NCAA.

The Resch Center was chosen as one of four regional sites for the 2012 tournament, along with venues in Minneapolis, Bridgeport,  Connecticutt, and Worcester, Massachusetts.

The 2011 Frozen Four will be held in St. Paul, while the 2012 Frozen four goes to Tampa, Florida.

The Green Bay (Resch Center) Midwest Regional will be hosted both in 2011 and 2012 by Michigan Tech University.

Feingold and Kohl help open Kagan hearings

Wisconsin’s two U.S. Senators help open confirmation hearings for a new Supreme Court nominee. Democratic Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold both sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which began considering the nomination of Elena Kagan Monday on Capitol Hill.

Kohl (D-WI) says the hearings will help determine whether Kagan is right for the high court. He told the Solicitor General of the U.S. that, while she may not be able to talk about how she will decide cases before the high court, members of the committee have the right to hear about her judicial philosophy on issues that could come up in the future.
