Gallardo says he’ll boycott All-Star game

Major League Baseball players are not letting Arizona’s new immigration law

Arizona’s new measure is set to take affect July 29th.  It requires police, while enforcing other laws, to ask about a person’s immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion that the person is in the country legally.

Now, a number of players are standing up for the Latin community, threatening to boycott next years game, including Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo.  [Read more...]

Dems say senate hopeful Johnson “shilling” for BP

Republican candidate for US Senate Ron Johnson is putting his own personal financial interests above the needs of Wisconsin. That’s according to Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate.

The Oshkosh businessman released his investment portfolio Friday, and it includes shares of BP and two other oil companies totaling anywhere between $181,000 to $466,000. “And this is a fact he failed to mention and tried to hide from voters for the last month and a half, all the while shilling for Big Oil interests,” Tate says. Hart a victim of inexperience and delay (AUDIO)

Every year there’s that one player that arrives on the scene at the All-Star Home Run Derby and turns heads.  Brewers outfielder Corey Hart was that player in round 1 last night, clubbing 13 home runs, more than any other player in the field. 

Then came a long break, about an hour and a half from Hart’s round 1 performance to round 2, and Hart lost his momentum.  The Brewers outfielder went homer-less in round 2 and quickly faded from the competition. [Read more...]
