Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials hope new technology can shed some light on a 20-year-old murder case. Eighteen-year-old Berit Beck of Sturtevant was last seen at the Fond du Lac Forest Mall 20 years ago this week. Her van was found outside the Fond du Lac Kmart and six weeks later her body was discovered in a ditch near Waupun.
Supreme Court blows hole in budget
A decision Tuesday by the Wisconsin Supreme Court has created a hole in the state budget. The court’s 5-to-2 ruling, that a $200 million transfer out of the Patients Compensation Fund to help balance the budget in 2007 was illegal, could force lawmakers back to Madison to plug a hole in the budget. The justices not only overturned a Dane County court’s decision dismissing a lawsuit by the Wisconsin Medical Society, they sent the case back to circuit court with directions that it order the state to pay back the money with interest. Northwoods League to hold All-Star game tonight
The best from the first half of the Northwoods League season will hit the field at Carson Park in Eau Claire for tonight’s All-Star game. The game is set for 7:35 with the Home Run Deby at 6:05.

Brewers; Capuano defeat Pittsburgh 3-1
For the first time since May 7th, 2007, Brewers Pitcher Chris Capuano got to wake up the next morning and see a “W” next to his name in the box score. His five-innings of one-run, three-hit baseball helped the Crew to a 3-1 win at PNC Park in Pittsburgh over the Pirates Monday night.
It was the first win for Capuano in his last 13-decisions and 30-appearances. It also snapped a 19-game losing streak by the Brewers in games that Capuano started. After a second Tommy John surgery in the 2007 off-season, Capuano battled back to the big league roster this June. In his 2nd start of 2010, Capuano was rewarded for his hard work:
Bucks continue roster makeover
Milwaukee Bucks General Manager John Hammond continued his assault on the Bucks roster by signing free agent PG Keyon Dooling to a two-year deal Monday. Reports have the deal at about $2-million a year.
Dooling will be entering his 11th NBA Season and enjoying his 5th NBA city. For his career, Dooling is averaging 7.2 points, 2.2 assists and1.4 rebounds per game. He spent last season in a reserve role with New Jersey where he appeared in 53 games, starting 8, compiling 6.9 points and 2.5 assists a game.
