Woman gives birth in bathroom, tosses baby in trash

A Franklin woman is arrested by Racine Police, after being accused of giving birth in a restaurant bathroom, putting the baby girl in a trash bag, and tossing it into the dumpster.

The 23-year-old woman was arrested Friday in her home on charges of first degree reckless homicide and concealing the death of a child. Racine police seargent Marty says the woman went to a Racine hospital for medical treatment August 16th but was evasive when asked if she had just given birth. [Read more...]

Court reinstates minimum markup law

A federal Appeals Court reinstates Wisconsin’s minimum mark-up law for gasoline sales.

The US 7th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled Wisconsin Unfair Sales Act is indeed constitutional. The decision Friday overturned a lower court ruling from last year, which blocked enforcement of the 71-year-old law on the argument that it violated anti-trust laws. [Read more...]

It’s time to make the cuts

The Green Bay Packers have to trim 22 players from their roster to get down to the 53-player regular season limit by 3pm on Saturday.  Here’s my attempt at coming up with the 53 the Packers will go to bat with in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.

For emergencies, it’s best to be prepared

State officials urge you to be prepared for emergencies.

Just remember three simple things: Get a kit, make a plan, and be informed. That’s the advice from Tod Pritchard of ReadyWisconsin.

Madison business woman arrested

A well known Madison pharmacist and businesswoman has been arrested. Marla Ahlgrimm, owner of Women’s Health America and pharmacies that provide hormone replacement therapy, along with 63 year old Balbir Bhogal were arrested Wednesday on federal charges alleging they imported and sold millions of doses of fake Viagra and other counterfeit drugs. Ahlgrimm, 55, has been honored for her civic-mindedness and serves on the UW Foundation.
