Badgers in Old Spice Semifinals

It wasn’t very pretty, but the Badgers advanced to the semifinals of the Old Spice Classic with a 50-35 win over Manhattan.  Wisconsin now sits at (3-1) on the season.

Offense was at a minimum Thursday afternoon.  Wisconsin shot 36% from the field for the game while the Jaspers were under 29% .  The halftime score was 17-10 in favor of Wisconsin.  Jon Leuer had 16-points to lead the Badgers.

The Badgers take on Boston College at 11:00 AM this morning.  If they win, they would advance to the championship game to play either CAL or Notre Dame Sunday at 6:00 PM.  The 3rd place game is Sunday at noon.

Badgers playing for Big Ten Title; Rose Bowl

The #7 Football Badgers (6-1, 10-1) wrap up the 2010 regular season Saturday at Camp Randall as Northwestern (3-4, 7-4) visits.  The Badgers have a lot on the line.

We will start with the Big Ten Title.  A win for the Badgers Saturday will give them a share of the crown for the first time since their 1999 Rose Bowl Season.

Packers head to Atlanta Sunday

When you think of the hardest places to play in the NFL Atlanta is not the city that rolls off your tongue.  It should be. 

Since Matt Ryan took over as the starting QB of the Falcons (8-2) in 2008, Atlanta is 18-1 at the Georgia Dome in games he has started.  This season the Falcons are the only NFC team still unbeaten (5-0) at home.  Ryan says he is not focused on the numbers:

Black Friday features early openings

Most of Wisconsin’s major retailers opened their doors in predawn darkness on Friday – ‘Black Friday’ as it’s known in retail parlance. The early openings are part of the strategy to pull shoppers in for the traditional post-Thanksgiving shopopalooza. The parking lot was jammed at a Target store in Marshfield, where sisters Lori Immerfall, Carrie Seeflueth and Traci Gust were taking care of some big ticket items, including a flat panel television. Elsewhere, the Wal-Mart in New Berlin had lots of shoppers at 2:30 a.m., while others were outside the door waiting for electronics and other door busters to go on sale at 5:00. Vigil to remember victim of dogfighting

 A group affiliated with Milwaukee’s animal control is holding a vigil to remember a victim of dogfighting. On November 19th, a MADACC animal control office responded to a report of a dog stuck in a lagoon at a city park.

“She (the dog) actually got to the edge, was trying survive and get her way out,” says Jill Brown of Battle against Dogfighting (BAD)/Friends of MADACC.
