UW-Whitewater picked off five passes and beat Wesley College 27-7 in the NCAA Division III football semifinals on Saturday.
The defending champion Warhawks (14-0) advance to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia this coming Saturday. They’ll take on Mount Union for the Division III Championship for the sixth straight season. Mount Union advanced with a 34-14 win over Bethel (Minnsota) on Saturday.
Whitewater running back Levell Coppage rushed for 127 yards on 27 carries to lead the Warhawks. Whitewater’s defense held Wesley to a negative 7 rushing yards.
