A cyber communication expert says news stories of teachers and students having inappropriate or sexual communication through technology is creating a climate of concern. Justin Patchin of the Cyberbullying Research Center, says most teachers avoid interacting with students through technology, out of fears of how they may perceived or “potential problems” that may occur.
Longtime capitol photog finds new focus

You probably don’t know his name, but if you’ve been to the state capitol, odds are you’ve seen him around.
Many of his pictures are in the official state Blue Book; some of those post cards in the gift shop were taken by him; and the multitude of kids touring the state capitol building have likely been photographed by him — and those kids probably have a postcard image as a memento of their visit.
“I’ve probably photographed somewhere in the vicinity of 15,000 fourth graders.”

Business tax exemption heads to Walker (AUDIO)
Another day, another Special Session bill heads to Governor Scott Walker’s desk for his signature. Thursday saw the state Senate approve a measure which provides a tax exemption for businesses that add new jobs. “I would argue that even in a depressed economy, employers face a variety of economic situations, some employers will expand to even a small marginal reduction in the cost of hiring,” said the bill’s author, Chippewa Falls Republican Terry Moulton. Walker signs lawsuit reform bill
Businesses will have new safeguards against liability lawsuits, under a bill signed into law by the Governor on Thursday.
Governor Scott Walker says the measure will make it easier for businesses to operate in Wisconsin without the fear of being targeted by frivolous lawsuits. He says the legal climate in Wisconsin has made companies fear being sued or forced to reach costly settlements. [Read more...]
