Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy pulled out the movie “Hoosiers” to motivate his team this week. He broke out clips from
the 1986 movie about a small-town Indiana high school basketball team.
McCarthy said, “I know everybody loves the movie ‘Hoosiers’, that moment when the basketball team walks into the arena and they measure the foul line and that’s 15 feet, and they measure the hoop, that’s 10 feet, and everybody goes ‘OK, it’s big in here, but…’ and that’s our approach.”
At a Friday morning press conference, Mike McCarthy was asked what a championship would mean to him. “I’ve always dreamt about championships. The opportunity to be in the National Football League since 1993, this is definitely th goal. It’s obvious that it’s heightened with my opportunity of being the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. And the opportunity to bring this trophy back home is something that we all think about as a football team and organization on a daily basis.”
