Browns traded up with Kansas City to secure the 21st selection.  The Packers remain at #32.

We’ll see what Ted Thompson has in store for the Packers.  Many of the names that have been associated with the Packers first round selection are still on the board.

Meanwhile, we wait and wait and wait.

We have a roomful of bloggers and Tweeters that somehow are finding time to even add to their Facebook pages.

Did I say there’s not much going on in the Packers Media Auditorium.  Tick, Tick, Tick, Tick!!!!!!!

Wisconsin’s Watt to the Houston Texans

Wisconsin defensive end J.J. Watt will call Houston his home for the next few years.  Watt was taken with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions made a big splash with their first pick.  With the 13th overall pick, the Lions added more defensive line help by picking Auburn DT Nick Farley.

The Minnesota Vikings had the pick before, #12 overall.  The Vikings took a quarterback, Christian Ponder out of Florida State.  Ponder took is the fourth quarterback taken among the first 12 picks.  Going before him, Cam Newton (Auburn) #1 overall to Carolina, Jake Locker (Washington) #8 overall to Tennessee and Jacksonville traded up into the 10th spot with Washington, taking Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert.

Atlanta traded up from #27 to #6 to pick Alabama WR Julio Jones.  The Falcons paid a steep price for such a jump, giving Cleveland their 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks in this draft and a 1st and 4th round pick next year.

The Packers have the 32nd pick in the first round with that selection to come later this evening.

Months after Governor Scott Walker rejected $810 million in federal money for a high speed rail line between Milwaukee and Madison, advocates point to a new study as reason to keep pushing for it. Madison Democrat, Representative Brett Hulsey, said it’s a question of competitiveness. “The Midwest and Wisconsin is the fifth largest economic region of the world. We’re competing with Japan, China, France and Germany – all countries that have an updated 21st Century high speed transportation system,” he said. [Read more...]

RNC Chair says birther issue must die

The birther issue, once a fringe idea of President Obama not being born in the US, has been pushed to the forefront. That’s due in part to billionaire and potential Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump making numerous skeptical statements on Obama’s origin.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who believes Obama was born on Hawaii, was asked by CNN’s Carole Costello this morning why he hasn’t told Trump to cool it. “We live in America. He (Trump) has a r [Read more...]
