A military pilot is safe following an aircraft crash in central Wisconsin. The pilot from the Madison-based 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard ejected from an F-16 fighter jet over Adams County at approximately 1:20 Tuesday afternoon, during a routine training flight. The pilot was recovered, and the aircraft located, in the town of Chester. Emergency responders were on the scene and a witness told Madison television station WKOW that the plane came so low that the missiles it carried were visible and that the aircraft was burning in a wooded area. An Air Force investigative team has been requested to determine the cause of the accident, according to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs.
