The Brewers blanked the Cubs 2-0 on Wednesday night at MillerPark. Zack Greinke struck out 9 in six and two-thirds innings worth of work. The Brewers got a solo homer from Prince Fielder and a sac fly from Yuney Bettencourt in the 2nd for the games only runs. K-Rod threw a scoreless 8th and John Axford set a team record with his 26th straight save in a scoreless 9th. Rickie Weeks left the game in the 2nd when he turned ankle legging out an infield hit. Initial X-rays showed no broken bones but Week’s will go on the DL and be out a while. The series wraps up this afternoon. Shaun Marcum takes the hill for the Brewers while Randy Wells gets the start for the Cubs. They will throw the first pitch at 1:10pm. The Brewers have traded catcher Wil Nieves to Atlanta for cash considerations.
