Two weekend drownings in Kenosha prompt reminders about water safety. An Illinois teenager died after being pulled unresponsive from a pond at a paintball park, in a rural part of Kenosha County.
The 15 year old was with several members of a church youth group, under a lifeguard’s supervision, when he disappeared. One of the others actually stepped on the victim in the water as a head count was taking place. The boy was rushed in critical condition to Saint Catherine’s Medical Center, where he died several hours later.
Meanwhile Kenosha Police say 19-year old Robert Espinoza’s death in a city pool, after hours, was a tragic accident. The Kenosha man apparently broke into the locked facility to cool off from the heat, and his body was found by an employee several hours later.
