The Milwaukee Brewers saw their 7-game win streak come to an end, falling 8-7 to the St. Louis Cardinals in 11-innings on Tuesday night at Miller Park.
The Brewers had many chances to win this game in regulation. The best of those chances came in the 7th when they loaded the bases with nobody out, then failed to score.

Shaun Marcum didn’t have his (A) game either, serving up a 3-run home run to Cardinal left hander Jaime Garcia.
After tying the game late, the Cardinals pushed across the game winner in the 11th on Matt Holliday’s rbi hit. It came off of Marco Estrada (2-7) who took the loss.
The game got testy late when the Brewers hit St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols with a pitch. It appeared to be unintentional. But when the Brewers came up the next half inning, the Cardinals retaliated and plunked Ryan Braun.
The Brewers and their fans are all up in arms about the Cardinals retaliation. That could make today’s series finale all the more interesting.
Everybody in Brewer nation was just reminded again why they don’t care for Cardinals Manager Tony La Russa. But La Russa has his players back. He manages the game like it’s been managed for a century. You hit my guy, I hit yours. The situation polices itself. It’s also why players like playing for La Russa.
I’ve witnessed countless times where Prince Fielder has been plunked by a pitch and no Brewers pitcher cared enough to return the favor. The Brewers pitching staff should try it once in a while. It’s not cheating, it’s playing the game the way it’s been played forever.
I don’t care for Tony La Russa either. But this guy is a master manipulator.
Even complaining that the Brewers were using the LED Board that wraps around the stadium to their advantage for extra lighting . Does La Russa really think filing a complaint with Major League Baseball is going to go anywhere? No, probably not. But based on the way Brewer Nation is carrying on, I think La Russa has once again gotten under your skin.
Jonathan Lucroy was still upset after the game. La Russa is clearly under his skin, and you wonder if that will throw Lucroy or any other Brewer for that matter, off of their game today.
1:10 1st pitch today. Should be worth watching!
